the malaysia whirlwind

Hello everyone!

I feel very bersemangat to write this post..as there are a few questions that i am raising..Sigh, i have no idea what is happening to Malaysia..but definitely, its a whirlwind.

Well, first of all, we have to thank Najib for this 1Malaysia and declaring Sept 16 to be public holiday. To everyone who is working/studying, good for everyone that its a holiday..I guess, its an extra day to do more shopping or cycling! (yes, Louis, that's for your case)

Then, the news recently started talking about how if people marry single mothers, they will receive an award? Why? Marrying single mothers should have nothing to do with awards! What kind of recognition is that? Do u think people are get married to receive an award? That shouldnt even be in anyone's right frame of mind. And its not love anymore, eh?

So, next time, when we think of benefits about getting married to a single mother, think of getting an award..then, yeah..probably its a good thing then!

So, i seem to notice, Herald case is still going on. To those of u who dont know what is this Herald thing all about..well, basically Herald is a catholic newspaper, and because sometimes, we use the word, 'Allah' to refer to God, and apparently there's a case going on that we, Catholics shouldnt be using the word, 'Allah'.

According to my knowledge, which probably may or may not make any sense, but please, do correct me if im wrong..Allah means God, right? The word Allah originates from Arab which means God. Allah doesnt mean Muslim God right? Like, when u check in the dictionary..they usually say, 'Allah' refers to God which Muslim usually refer to. So, the word 'Allah' doesnt belong to anyone, right? Get what i mean?

If Muslim were to conduct a sermon in English how would they call Allah? Will they still use Allah or will they have to explain and just say God? What if they had to conduct a sermon to a bunch of English educated people who has no knowledge whatsoever about Muslim. Then, how will they refer Allah? Well, this is just my two pence worth. Of course, im still so young, and talking about all these issues, i may not understand much of it.

See what i mean about whirlwind..suddenly good and bad, good and bad..well, thank goodness there's a good.

Bath, but not to shower..

So, my parents and uncle, aunt came down to Bristol during the weekend, and we went to Bath to visit. Well, i must say, there's quite a few interesting things to see..

Told u, there's a few interesting things to see! Sorry, couldnt take more..he was gonna put fireworks into his butt crack and do a somersault!

The Roman bath..its the most popular thing in Bath. Well, quite a bit interesting stuff in there. Apparently, this is where the Romans used to shower many many years ago. Some parts of the place has fallen apart, but they managed to retrieve these few valuable parts and put it on display.

I'm listening to the explanation..and, so is my dad!

We manage to get free spring water to drink. The man serving us claims it tastes awful. Oh, well...taste just like water except that its just a tiny bit salty. Bet he hasnt been to the beach and accidentally drink a gulp of water there!

terrific thursday..

Today is Thursday..and i have 3 days weekend! Woohoo! Yup, people, i dont have any classes on Fridays as well. But i guess i gotta start studying and with all my assignments coming in too!

Currently, im so lost in one of my subject; Corporate Financial Management and looks like i gotta do a lot of catching up this weekend.

So, today is my first time ever i cooked rice since i got here. Yes, believe it or not. Well, i decided to make fried rice as a i guess i love fried rice, but not as much as chicken rice!

Yeah, so this is how my fried rice turned out to be. A little wet i guess...must be the egg..and the best part is..my mum left some sambal with dried prawn for me in the freezer! So, i had to eat with the fried rice..Yummy-licious!

Put some tea in and some chrysanthemum...hmm..so relax.

So, now i can study..keke!

I know i havent been uploading lots of pictures about my the place and all. Ok, will post up some pictures after this of Bath, ok?

fireeeee!

There has been a fire in my university. Its opposite my court..one of the kitchen was caught on fire. Apparently one of them left the stove on and forgot to switched it off. I realised most people do that here. My house mates keeps forgetting to switch it off as well. Went in to the kitchen today and found one of the stove was really, hot and red (fire red) cause it was left there unattended.

So, i guess, it could have happened to my place instead! Sad to say, im not surprise if there's more fire to come..with the rate people are cooking and leaving things around. (Yes, Louis Chew, worse than me!)

Alright then...better go now...having class in the morning..your time in Malaysia will be 7.30am now..

Alright, so this is how my fish turned out to be. I guess its really healthy, cause i dint even put a single drop of oil. Just grill..

Parents are coming over this weekend. Cant wait!

By the way, if u guys were wondering what happened to the fish today, it turned out better than yesterday. More juicy, and has some gravy too. No pictures at the moment. Will probably post the picture tmr, ok? Just to update u guys!

baked cod fish

I know how this may look. What the hell is that, right? haha..but, it turned out alright ok?

Baked cod fish..simple to marinade the fish. Just some salt, pepper and lime juice. Add all the vegetables in to bake along with it..Ta-da! Oh, and i ate with mash potatoes..

So, im pretty proud of myself, cause today seems like the first time i enjoyed what i ate. hehe..Took some pictures..

Hmm, basically, i should have covered the foil tightly. Shouldnt have left it open on top, and shouldnt have taken such a long shower while leaving it to bake!

Purposely zoom in for u guys to see the juicy, cod fish. Not overdone..just nice! ;-)

So, i have another side of the fish to bake tmr. Hmm, i shall try something different with it. Im gonna add in some brown sauce into the fish, and leave it to bake this time. Will let u guys know which i would prefer, ok?

While cooking, i learnt German from my housemate, too!

when im bored

This is my first weekend here on campus. All i can say is that, its so so damn quiet. Most of them went back to their place, and i guess its quite peaceful too. So, feeling bored and have no idea what to do, i turn on AOL radio, blast it on and dance around my room. Oh well, who cares? Nobody is gonna know besides u guys!

chinese in London

Finally, the day has arrived, when we girlfriends meet in London. Well, i have to admit that we had this in mind for a long time, and finally, able to do so. Coincidentally, it was during mooncake festival, so, we decided to have chinese food for a change. This was some stuff we had. Greedy us decided to order some sides too. I had to voice out to get 2 sides, and Val called me greedy. Then, when i said, everyone has to agree to get it, and she was the first to agree! haha!

Hello, everyone!

Sorry for not updating my post earlier. Oh well, i have to admit, i have been quite busy getting myself settled in and getting used to the university life here. Of course, u cant ask me to compare it to HELP University as u know how HELP is like.. Of course, the environment and the lecturers are better here, hands down. Well, the lecturers here are around Mr Gavin's standard or Mr Lye. Know what i mean?

Besides that, Bristol is a nice place. Not as happening as London, but i guess its good enough. Things are much cheaper in Bristol compared to London too. Hmm, not forgetting the cold and the wind lately. Gosh! Just telling u guys about the wind and i can hear the wind howling now.

And when its cold, u know what it means? I have been eating more too! Cant help it!

Thank goodness i just started my gym here again. Went for the first time yesterday, but i think i would rather go in the afternoon instead of evening from now on. Evening is just way too crowded!

Hang out with some of my new friends here and thought they werent too bad too. Friendly and helpful.

I guess 9 months laying off from classes makes me quite a lazy person. Guess i have some catching up to do too. So, yeah i have been cooking for myself lately. I have been eating bread most of the time actually. Its been like 1 and a half weeks and my loaf of bread is still there! Ok, so just thought of updating a random post to let u guys know im still alive and surviving. Will upload pictures the next time i blog, ok?

Hopefully, if the weather is alright, will be going to town tmr. And i will take some pictures, ok?
